I love how each time you make a game, you use the same basic gameplay elements and morph it into something new. You keep us all guessing what you're going to do next. ^_^

David - Thanks. TGB is a pretty good engine for shooters it seems.
Deborah - hehe, in other words, I copy and paste 90% of my code and change the art ;-)
I've found that working within the shmup genre has allowed me to learn as I go, just adding one or two new features and tricks with each project and building on a solid base of working code. The aim with this project was to learn how to do an online scoreboard (TGB/php/mysql integration), how to make better use of Torque's audio features, and to learn about HSV color manipulation.
By the way, this is made entirely with Torquescript - no engine modifications and it's using TGB 1.7.2.

James - if you're having trouble dodging Uranium's bullet pattern just use the shield when you get cornered, and focus on the smaller atoms to keep you energy level up.David - Thanks. TGB is a pretty good engine for shooters it seems.

1. the way bullets are pushed away by the shield
2. the molecular diagrams which appear in the background
Also the main menu gui itself is pretty slick. Are you using sceneObject based guis?

Two particularly nice "polish" items ... 1. the way bullets are pushed away by the shield
2. the molecular diagrams which appear in the background

Yes the gui is just regular static sprites. I haven't worked out how to use the TGB gui editor or gui functions yet, can't find any good examples or documentation for that area.

Thanks James - those are called Feynman Diagrams. I'm a big fan of Richard Feynman :-)Yes the gui is just regular static sprites. I haven't worked out how to use the TGB gui editor or gui functions yet, can't find any good examples or documentation for that area.

Again, awesome shooter! And again, I really stink at it! I'll have some fun trying to beat this one, even though I never beat DroneSwarm.
What really impressed me about GB! is the way all the sound effects blended into the music -- that is awesome, I have no idea how you managed to do that. The gamepad support is also top notch, the support for the analog stick is something I've never seen in TGB before.

Kevin - thanks. Once the contest at eegra.com is over I'll release the source for the game. Then you can expect synchronized sounds and smooth analog motion in everyone's games :-)

Very good. I'll be needing smooth analog motion in the near future! :D

Thanks Kevin and Deborah. If I can find the time, I'm hoping to port Go Beryllium to iPhone. Working out a control scheme should be interesting :-)

Looks great !
Any chance you can compile a Mac version for this so that I can have a play as I don't have access to a windows machine ?
If not, any chance of the full source so I can compile it myself ?
Thanks

Mic Pringle - yes, there will be a Mac version soon. I'm very busy with iPhone stuff at the moment, but when I get a chance I'll release a Mac version of this game.
