Write file to desktop?

Does anyone know how to write a file to the desktop? As far as I can see, the only place I can write a file is to App Data.
I'm using the App Data folder for everything, but in my game, I need to make it so that the player can export recipe files to the desktop (I'm assuming they will know nothing about computers and hidden folders, etc).

This will give your players single click access to the recipes stored, and cut down on desktop clutter if they are exporting many recipes.
Not sure how difficult it would be with whatever installer package your using, but I don't think it should be too tough a task to pull off.

While not an answer to your question, perhaps a possible solution would be to have a shortcut to your recipe folder placed on the desktop during the installation of the game.
