Lighting Adjustment Questions

Hey, I have a question that involves adjusting the way the lighting will be for certain missions. I have multiple missions with lots of good models for then, but I want to adjust the lighting so osme of them seem at different times of the day. For example, I want a village scene to be at night so the burning buildings really stand out. However, I'v noticed that simply changing the ambient and/or color for the sun does nothing for changing the light it gives off. I'v also had problems changing sky textures and such. All I wanted to do was change to maps general lighting and sky texture but it seems to be more complicated then what I thought. (Either that or i'm having a mindless moment.)
Anyone mind helping me understand what needs to be changed or added to set this the way I want?

I've played around with the sunlight options in TGE for a few hours and made several different scenes with noticably different lighting. I have not tried to make a night time scene, but I doubt that it's much different than what I did do. For one thing, I made a scene with really deep shadows by setting the ambient light level really dark. I've heard that you can just set the sunlight to black for night time scenes, but I haven't tried it yet.

If I had to guess at what is going on with your issue, I would say that it's probably a "re-lighting" issue. If you go into the editor where you change the lighting in the first place, there should be a re-light scene option on the menu. Every time you make a change that you want to see, you have to re-light the scene, otherwise you will never see the changes.
