Another MMO Question/Modeling Software

by Zuero · in Torque Game Engine · 05/16/2008 (12:01 am) · 1 replies

Alright I know I asked before if it would be possible to make an MMORPG with Torque. But this time I wanted to know if it would be possible to make an MMO that is similar to action game, gameplay. Basically is it possible to make ANY type of MMO?

And I am in need of a free modeling program which can be used to develop armor and weapons, and maybe monsters. So can anyone recommend a 3D Modeling Software that can do this for free?

Zuero - You can make any type of game imagineable with Torque if you have the time into modifying the engine, which is for the most part designed to be an FPS engine. I've created small demo games for driving, puzzle games, action rpg, FPS and the basics of an MMO, remember however it takes a LOT of time to produce even the smallest of games so tackling a project the size of an MMO or similar really isn't advisable unless you have a lot of experience under your belt. You're probably talking a couples of years to code something like that for TGE without using the MMOKit.

As for a free modelling program, Blender really is the best of the free modelling tools so you should check that one out.
