Screenshots in the Resource Area

Can the screenshots be changed so that you can click on the thumbnail to preview a larger version? As it is right now they are too small to really see the features that are trying to be portrayed.

I have bypassed this limitation in the past by using [image ]http://www.picturelink.com[/image ] to place a larger screen shot I'm hosting within the resource.

I know you can get a *slightly* larger image from the thumbnail by right clicking on it and left clicking "View image", but I'm not sure if that is a Firefox only feature.

Still, that would be a nifty feature if it didn't interfere with the upload limits.

That would require a change to the current site setup. We are in the process of a redesign, and have been for a while, but I'm not sure if the screenshot stuff is changing. I haven't checked on that.

Oh, great a redesign. I've got some suggestions to add.

1) A New forum setup like Vbulletin. The current setup is not very well organized. Some forums show up and some don't. The search feature on this forum is horrible also. I can almost never find what I'm looking for without having to click on tons of links.

2) The resource section needs better organization. Right now everything is all piled together. There is no telling if a resource is for TGB,TGE or TGEA until you read the description and even then it's iffy.

@Jeramy

1. The current setup is probably more organized then Vbulletin, and some forums don't show up because you have limited your subscriptions on the forums.

2. It's the persons falt if they don't know how to list it, some of them say it though anyway.

It's definitely not more organized than VB. I own VB and have run a few forums with it. As far as listing a resource, take a look at the resource page. There is no seperation for the engines.

Good suggestions Jeramy!

There will be a new forum system, though not VBulletin. The organization will be about the same, though, with much of the "common" features that people expect from systems. Personally I like SMF over VBulletin or PostNuke's forums, but that's just because I prefer the structure, plugin system, and admin tools. Others prefer other systems. For the time being, you should make sure to adjust your subscriptions to show forums you have access to. It's a clunky system that came from one forum direction (you can still find it in a number of LMS packages) when the majority of public (and popular) forums went in another direction. I'm not sure on what the ETA is for the new site design.

We definitely do need a more organized resource section, though that is an extremely difficult thing to back-date. It might be best to form some sort of resource archive for what exists, and let people search it. And then create a new submission process which includes versioning information and such that people usually are irritated by.

I think I answered this in another one of your topics somewhere since you've had some excellent suggestions (and keep 'em coming) and mentioned it. I should have put it here since it would have made more sense!

Edit subscriptions

You click on the forums section of the Community menu and the option is at the top of the list of forums. Annoying placement that you will miss if you only check new posts (like I do). I'm just used to it so I know where it's at.
