I think that game had an development cost of roughly 10$ and was developed by a team of hamsters using a hacked rom of Actraiser, and i base this statement on absolutley nothing.

That game looks f*cked up. I did not like the way the dude in the hoody stomped some guards head. At least the got the deceny to make it off-screen when you curb stomp oponents in GOW. Looks kind of fun though =)I think that game had an development cost of roughly 10$ and was developed by a team of hamsters using a hacked rom of Actraiser, and i base this statement on absolutley nothing.

Yeah I know it probably cost more than that, but hundreds of thousands sounds less discouraging than a million +.

Prototype's budget is in the millions, and its release date was just moved back. Probably more millions soon.

Man on an only marginally related note, that video looked awesome.

A dedicated and talented team with a large budget and awesome artists could tailor the engine to a game like this. Most likely such a team could write their own engine from scratch if they felt like it, too.
Just thought I would note that since I see topics like "can this engine make this..." topics all the time on the various sites I visit when the question should really be "can my team utilize this engine to make a title like..."

Also, the phrasing of the topic is incorrect since TGEA doesn't make your game any more than licensing the Offset, Hero, or Unreal 3 engines make your game.A dedicated and talented team with a large budget and awesome artists could tailor the engine to a game like this. You should also understand, not to discourage, but just to inform, that they were probably a team of 50+ people and spent probably hundreds of thousands of dollars on the project. But I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.
