Simple 3DS Max 4 Question

I was wondering what the appropriate command or series of commands I would have to use in order to create a mirror image of an object.
For instance, I create half of a gun model, and I want to create another half to make a whole circle (hypothetically.) Now, I can clone the object, but even if I rotate it, they won't be mirrored. (One will be facing backwards, upside down.)
I could create two objects and edit them the same way, but what I'm doing is very precise and I'm new enough to this as it is.

Just remember when you're finished with the the half you gotta attach the two sides together to make it a single mesh for animating and exporting reasons.

Hey all you gotta do is click on tools at the top and go to mirror. Check the copy field under the clone selection box. Choose the appropriate axis, for example if you were modeling with the object facing forward on the y-axis then you would want to mirror along the x-axis, you can tell just by looking at it anyways. If you cant see the mirrored object then its probably ontop the original one so you change the offset to line up next to it. If you wanted to make a mirrored copy into a seperate object that would change in occurence to whatever you change on the original then check instance under clone selection instead of copy. That way whatever work you did on one side it would do to the other automatically. all of this is found under the tools-->mirror dialog box.Just remember when you're finished with the the half you gotta attach the two sides together to make it a single mesh for animating and exporting reasons.

Yeah, I was just in a fog today and couldn't concentrate, so I overlooked it completely.
