Hey,
I was on a forum I had just signed up and I decided to post my URL for my site... there was a bit of an uproar about it, personally I dont have a problem with people posting their URLs, but a few people there did... the thing that got me was they allow people to have URL(s) in their sigs because there not 'intentionally' posting just to promote their site, but to me even if you are posting about another topic if the URL is in the sig then you have some kind of intention to get it out and known... it might just be me but I think thats a bit weird, they were going to ban me, or they still might do that, for that one little incident. Anyway ill stop blabbering on; it would be good to hear what other people think of this.

If it was one of those "Check out my website!!!!!" threads... yeah I don't like that because threads on a forum should stay on topic. But I don't care about URLs in sigs... in my opinion thats what sigs are for.

Yeah. I'm afraid I'm guilty. I usually post my url. I'm accumulating notes and answers to topic threads I find interesting. So, when I answer a thread I usually post a link to my site too. I haven't gotten flak about it yet, but I'm sure it will happen some day.
