Character customization

Some one can help me in chatacter customization technic ? I want to give the choice to the user to make an unique character with the possibility to define skin, eye form, eye orientation etc... of the character some one have a tutorial or explication about the process ? i have read some tutorial about cloths and armors but it's not the same. Thx alot .
