Platformer Kit

Ok so im not having much luck programming a platformer game by myself and looking at getting the plaformer kit now as I dont think im going to manage without it but I just have a few questions.
1. Does the Platformer Kit work with the Torque X demo? If not is there a free full version of Torque X that works with the kit.
2. Do I have to use the 1.0 version or will it work with the 2.0 version?
3. Will it allow me to import my own characters and make my own scenes?
4. Can I still purchase the product even though im in the UK and the site works in $?
5. Is the kit easy to use? and will it allow me to easily create characters that jump, collect items and kill enemies?
Sorry for all the posts but this is quiet important and I was trying to cover all my options,
