DTS format documentation?

by Ed Averill · in Torque Game Engine · 03/26/2008 (8:38 am) · 3 replies

Help! I'm trying to find up-to-date documentation on the DTS/DSQ format, as I'm considering writing an exporter for one of the 3D applications I'm using. I see some basic stuff on TDN, but nothing that appears to be of assistance in writing a full-fledged exporter.

Can anyone provide any pointers, or is this one of those "read the existing code and reverse engineer from there" things? All help appreciated!

Personally, I'm not aware of any written documentation. On the other hand, I've found the Python code that is part of the Blender DTS exporter as well as the source for the C++ library that is part of the TGE package to be highly informative.

Thanks.. I'll dig into the Python code and see if that helps me! :-)

Hello all. I'd like to take this opportunity to invite anyone who wishes to discuss documentation for artists to a recently created thread:

Official Artist Documentation Feedback.

Make sure you read the first post, as it fully explains the purpose of the thread.

See ya there =)
