Apply modifiers on export ?

Im using edge split most of the time for my models that i put into torque and i always have to make two files now .. one with edgesplit applied and one without,, it can get to be a bit of a hassle after a while .. what with not having one source file for your models so i was wondering if there could be an option for applying modifiers in the exporter?
