TorqueX 2.0 - TXB 'Invalid Key
by Christopher Cook · in Torque X 2D · 03/14/2008 (11:38 pm) · 10 replies
Ever since installing the 1.5 beta I haven't been able to register TXB using my Creators Club key, or the 1.5 key issued to me. Now even after completely uninstalling/reinstalling, I'm finding the 2.0 bundle is giving me the same problem. It says they're both invalid keys and that there are 0 days left on the trial - how do you fix this? Our Creators Club keys are supposed to unlock the 2.0 TXB aren't they?

I'm checking on it.

Did you download the Torque X 2.0 file or the Torque X 2.0 for Creators Club Members? Both are available from the Torque X download page, but your TXB key will only work with the TXB trial that comes with the latter (Torque X 2.0 for Creators Club Members).
We tested it here in the office and it's working, so if that's not the problem, we need to keep hunting. Let us know either way!

Where is the link for the Torque X 2.0 for Creator Club members download?
Following the download link on the Torque X page offers Torque X 1.0 and 2.0, but neither with the creator club designation. Following the "download" link on the "purchased products" area of the GG account page will take you to the Microsoft site which only offers 1.0. Under "All Downloads", the only Creator Club designation is for the Torque X 3d Open Beta.
Thanks for the help!

UPDATE: Nevermind... it looks like the Creator's Club website is not keeping up with the updates.

@Michael - are you saying the download link next to Torque X on your My Account page sends you over to Microsoft? It shouldn't. It should go to a download page on our site that has three options for windows - Torque X 2.0 for Creators Club Members, Torque X (1.0), and Torque X 2.0.

Clicking on the download link next to "Torque X Builder - Creators Club" goes to a download page on your site with a single option to download "Torque X Builder - Creators Club". Clicking on that will take you to the page that John K. just mentioned above where it only has 1.0 available.
But the "Torque X" link does go to the page you describe with the option for Torque X 2.0 Creators Club.
Problem solved!

The link to the 'TorqueX 2.0 - Creators Club' version worked. I must have grabbed 2.0 before the creator's club version was added, that download wasn't listed when I initially grabbed it (there was only the two other options). Thanks for the help!
