==ISO Visual Studio game programmer - for 2-8pl chess variant==
Hi,
We are looking for a savvy AI game programmer for our multiplayer chess game.
Proven game design has one drawback: no AI or CPU checks on moves.
that's why we need a programmer (yes just one) that isn't afriad of the challenge and is willing to do something that hasn't been done before.
The legit genuine tools you need to have:
==The microsoft DirectX SDK (not just the runtime).
http://www.microsoft.com/directx
==The Windows Platform SDK (VS2005 Express does NOT include this by default but Pro does).
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=484269E2-3B89-47E3-8EB7-1F2BE6D7123A&displaylang=en
Do not be alarmed by the title "Windows Server 2003 SP1 Platform SDK Web Install".
This allows you to develop for not just Windows Server 2003 but Windows XP/x64/etc.
==Popcap Game Framework (this solves many issues for multiple types of PCs and other issues for the game, and it is FREE)
http://developer.popcap.com/forums/pop_index.php (8.3MB)
You should have a great understanding of chess AI and love to solve AI issues for dealing with multiple checks, mates, and more players then other variants and players are use to.
More information is available after we contact each other and mutual NDAs are signed and received.
==> Important: What we need from you is a link to your resume (or include it in the body text of your initial email to us) and links to games, demos or projects you have coded, with an explanation of what you did and what you liked and hated about the project and issues you had with each project.
Why no pay right now? Because it is a pet project with potentially a major payoff to get "our" game into OS distributions/OEMs and game portals. Hence, you will get 75% of the monies paid from us selling the game outright or licensing it. We have great relationships with many companies in the game industry, so getting the game published and distributed won't be difficult.
This is a unique opportunity and project for the right person that is passionate about AI, chess AI, adding to chess AI research, making a bug-free multiplayer chess app and hopefully making some decent money for it.
Thanks ahead of time to all that are willing to help me with this project.
===> Please send your resume and links to xhadoe at gmail dot com.
