attaching fxLight to mounted object/image

I'm trying to build a torch-item using fxLightDB, that mounts to the player, however, it seems that fxLightDB can't find the torch-object anymore, when its mounted. I guess this happens because, actually the item image is mounted. So what I would probably have to do is attach fxLightDB to the image. Is there any way, that fxLightDB can be used like that?
