Simply based on a lot of the discussion and questions the platformer tutorials on TDN generated over the years, this should be quite a popular starter kit.

Thanks for taking the initiative and making this kit for TGB. It was always a bit odd that Torque X had a platformer kit and TGB didn't, but I'd guess that was probably due to a lack of resources and not a lack of desire on GG's part.

I had a lot of fun creating it and have learnt a lot about TGB in the process. I am just glad I was able to make something and give help to people who might need something like this.

Philip, you can consider at least one sold on the first day from our company.

I'm assuming it uses all the tilemap features, like tiles with different collision polygons, etc. It's hard to tell from the pictures/description whether it's using tiles or some other larger objects for the ground, walls. If this makes tile-based collisions work great *out of the box*, then it's worth the price of admission alone.

Can't wait!

Is it a source update to the engine (requiring a re-compile) or is it all script based?

It doesn't use tile collisions, though you probably could use them and does not require source mods.

GG will receive my final build on Monday. After that it is all admin work and whatnot. To answer your question, hopefully in a week or two.
