Twitched Based MMO with TNL

I am currently getting all of my Cisco certifications and I have a lot of interest in networking. I am really interested in doing a project for fun (no matter how long it takes me).

I have been playing some of the MMOs around (Guild Wars, Lineage ][, etc...) and am having a VERY hard time getting into them. None of the MMOs feel that immersive and don't seem like they are based on skill (reaction and accuracy skill anyway). Most of the time I play games like Half-Life 2, F.E.A.R., etc. I would love to play an MMO that is twitch based.

I am wondering, how capable TNL would be for twitch based MMO? Before I get spammed with, that depends on how capable you are, I will admit I am not very capable at the moment. I am a CS student and I am focusing on networking as my area of expertise.

I am also looking into DarkStar by Sun as a backend solution. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.

TNL is a generic networking layer for game development. It doesn't deal with persistence and what-not (though you can, of course, write it in). It is basically the TGE networking model stripped out of TGE with a couple of nice features added. That way you could adapt it to your gamestyle as needed.
