Just saw this, thought it looked pretty good and decided to post it. Steamworks (from Valve) will let you integrate the features of Steam into your game for free. Check the links below for more info.

How much is it?

Unfortunately they will not provide access to it if you are a small indie developer, or have a niche market that they do not believe in.
So that rules all of us out I guess.

They are making it available for free, but you have to qualify for the access. Unfortunately they will not provide access to it if you are a small indie developer, or have a niche market that they do not believe in.

Well at the very least it doesn't hurt to try. If you don't try you will never know. Perhaps they do have a soft spot for Indie Developers.

This was posted last year. The people at Steam are really friendly and helpful, they even have a indie game category for indie games which a lot of indie games have already made it to Steam using their Steam works SDK.

But yeah, its awesome and they can set you up an official steam group for your game in about a day or so. (Last time I made an official group, they didn't check for screenshots or anything. That may have changed.)

Not true at all John. I got access to Steamworks about 5 months ago and they never asked to see screenshots of the game, or my past experience. The only thing they asked was for the name of the game. Only downside is it took me a few months to actually get access to Steamworks. (Guess I was low priority) But yeah, its awesome and they can set you up an official steam group for your game in about a day or so.
