Tim Aste - Combo and MMOWorkshop

Hello,

I purchased the Tim Aste Combo Pack a few days ago, I planned on using it in conjunction with the MMOWorkshop mod at http://www.mmoworkshop.com

After purchasing the kit, it seems that if I add one of the buildings using the Torque Creator it can be placed just fine (the initial external lighting is a little messed up but thats not the issue), once one of the buildings is placed (or infact any of the DIF models from the pack) whenever I try to relight the mission or the mission loads and performs lighting the engine crashes.

I understand the MMOWorkshop is based on an older version of Torque (1.3 I think) and I tried the interiors in the version of Torque I have 1.5 and they work fine so I know that the problem either lies in the older version of Torque or the MMOWorkshop modification itself.

I have tried thanks to some advice on the MMOWorkshop to export the models using constructor as Legacy DIF and that makes no difference, I see that there is now no way to contact Tim Aste as Gremlin Studios doesnt exist anymore so I can't go to the source and ask him if he is aware of any problems and any solutions, I really don't want to sound like a whiney baby right now but I would love to get this pack working.

Has anyone got any suggestions on what I can try to get things working, or at least any tips on figuring out what exactly is the problem?

Or better yet has anyone ever managed to get the Tim Aste kit working with MMOWorkshop?

Thanks,

Daniel Paull

Are you including all the textures in the same folder as the dif objects?
The exporter Tim uses doesn't strip unused textures, so you have to include all the textures. (all 25mb of them)
I don't have the mmokit, but have used the kit in 1.4 and 1.5 without a problem.

    Hello,

Thank you for the response, the textures show up just fine on the model in game before lighting. I tried what you suggested and moved the textures from the location the pack readme suggests to put them, there was unfortunately no change in clicking Relight.

Any other things I could try?

    Thanks

Try ading a dif that isn't from the pack to determine if the problem is with those interiors, or with something in your game.

I was sure I had tried other DIFs before and they worked fine, but you are right its now doing it with any DIF, I guess I will go back to the MMOWorkshop forums and see if anyone has any ideas.

    Thanks for the help!

I've found that by deleting almost everything else in my "world" and then placing the DIF's the relight works, thanks for the help and I will pursue this further at the other site.
