Particle question.

Not sure if the is the right form for this? But, I'm trying to create a particle effect that explodes out and away from the camera . I have messed with the thetaMin and Max and phiVariance and phiReferenceVel properties but the particles always seem to explode around the emitter in a fanning style rather than in a specific direction.
Any help?
