Two racing game ideas I have

Hey, I am new to the forums so... yeah. anyway
I have two ideas for racing games and I cant decide if i should combine them or not, add features etc. I also want some feedback.

Idea one:
All takes place in a single city(fictional)
All different types of racing(see below)
Legal or illegal: meaning race on a closed courses or an open city
player can choose path. Be legal or illegal
dricing style is somewhat arcade like.(unrealistic to a sense, like need for speed)

racing types:
Rally- on a dirt or snow road
Drag-down a line
Circuit-standard race
Drift-drifting in long courses or small courses
Haywire-autocross
Showboat-try to get style points/ Jump and stunt
One way-from point A to B
Collector-collect a bunch or things on a course
regular style online( lobby interface)

Idea two:
The game takes place on race islands(think hawaii but for cars)
island are split into 3 parts(inner, middle, outer)
The inner part(big island) is based on cites(tokyo for example)
the middle part is another part of a city(ex: the wangan in tokyo)
and the outer part is another part of that cities surrounding area(ex: mountains in japan, initial d)
They driving style is realestic yet not unforgiving to new players like forza
you start races by going up to another npc racer and flas your lights and suggest a race(adds to the realism?)
mmo online

So there are my ideas. I like them both, but I think that the second one is more ambitious. I would like to add online regular and mmo style to both if possible. I like features in both of them, des anyone think i should combine elents into one game?

After the Babylon 5 Game, I'm doing a Jeepney racing game/ simulation, where you start out as a pedicab driver, earning upgrades to be a tricycle driver, a jeepney, an omnibus, and an FX (multiuser Taxi/ Asia Utility Vehicle). This one with routes and boundaries to meet - all in city traffic.

I wouldn't consider the first one to be an idea.

The second one is a lot like Test Drive: Unlimited for the 360.

Is being like Test Drive bad?

I don't think it's bad. The core concept of the game was fine, but for some reason it wasn't a huge success. Something else worth researching would be Motor City: Online which was really under-appreciated by the market despite being a fairly decent game.

Motor City: Online was great, one of the first online PC games I ever played. That aside, I think your second idea is much more conrete, I think that there are a few things to think about to be different,

    1. How are your zones going to differ from the ones found in a Need For Speed: Underground type game.
2 The flashing headlights is kinda nifty, but it had been done already as well, in a previous NFS title, which they later removed as a feature, and I feel that it was a bad decision.

I appologise for barating you, I really like the isolated island idea for a racing game, I think that is a great way to introduce storyline and such, for instance making the player choose which part of the island to start on, thus picking which type of racing they will be competing in at the beginning of the game, just an idea.
