Sorry, i am a programmer ,but not a artist.my work is not good.i made it just for learning constructor.now i send what i do.
i made a big castle wall
which is very big.but i find some issue, this may be caused by me,but can some one tell me why?
first image is the whole scene.

second image is the issue i meet.this brush is the copy as the other one ,which is displayed good.but this one has no texture.but the collision is ok,the player can stand on it.

Yes,i made the pieces, this is caused by combinating all the pieces.

The body of the castle is one DIF, the turrets are the only seperate pieces.
Large castles are definitly doable. So just try different things, Practice makes perfect. Btw i love your oriental style building there, anyway i can take a peak at your geometry from constructor?

You combined them in constructor or in the editor. If you placed the 3 pieces via the editor, you shouldnt have a issue, These large face errors are caused largly by just that, too large of a face, try reducing the size of the face in half and then reexport the face, completely delete the affected brush. Constructor is very finiky about that.

I combined them in constructor.i also had the same problem of the only gate piece.Just as you said , i think it caused by the large faces i used. I will try it again.Thank you.I am not good at art, if you like the oriental style building, you can access many chinese MMORPG website, for example,http://fod.object.com.cn/event/sc/sccreen.aspx,I used worked for.

Is there any chance that Edward or anyone in the know would elaborate on this statement? Is there a reason you wouldn't use the knife tool to simply split the brush in half? Does this imply that none of the CSG tools should be used?

Actually you can use the scale tool, it should allow you to reduce the size of any brush, if its square it should be a simple thing.

This is just speculation. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks for the quick reply Edward. This makes me think that the Gizmo could be used as a gauge to tell if a brush has been mangled by one of the tools. For instance, if I split a large brush with the Knife tool, select one of the two sides and the Gizmo jumps to the center of the two (where the center of the large brush was.) My guess is that this is a good sign that Constructor is confused about the brush origins and these brushes should be deleted and rebuilt. This is just speculation. Any thoughts on this?
