Re-skinning Adam - is it legal?

by ChrisG · in Game Design and Creative Issues · 01/19/2008 (4:02 pm) · 2 replies

I'm thinking of buying the adam pack and re-skinning him to get the characters I need for my game. Is it legal to do this? The EULA is not that clear on the matter.

Of course the re-skinned adam would only be distributed as part of the game.

@ChrisG

Hopefully Spencer Boomhower or a GG rep. will respond, but I think from reading the EULA simple description that what you intend to do falls within the described acceptable use of the product:

Quote:Simple Description:

You can modify this content for your game and otherwise do what you will with it, with the following limitations: You can't use this pack to make and sell more content packs. You can't release the source files. You can't make derived works and release the source files. You don't own the content. You are licensing the content and you have to abide by the rules and protect my copyright.

Yes, you can reskin him. You just can't resell a new "Bob" content pack using your reskinned work.
