For some reason everything I make comes up in game with a dark brown texture:

The other things visible on the screen I made with Quark and they worked fine but the .dts isn't working. I'm probably doing somethign wrong in milkshape, but even after I apply a texture to the material and then export it and place the texture file in the folder with the .dts and whatnot, it comes out like that.
Any help?
Thanks!

The texture is a power of 2 yes or no-(this is a gimme heh)
When you export it do you check to see if the specular or emissive level on the material are set right.
Do you see what your ambient and diffuse light settings are. The reason I say this is my cubix models use to show up dark so I change the ambient or the diffuse colors to white and then it would popped back bright again.
This is some of the stuff I would take a look at before I export the model just to see if I got any gotchas going on with the material settings. hope this helps you out. :)

How does the DTS show up in Torque Show Tool Pro? Did you test it with that before you dropped the model into the game? Another thing: milkshape sucks at mapping textures. If you can afford it, get Ultimate Unwrap 3D Pro or some other UV Mapper.
