What do you think of this idea?

Hello everyone,
Here is the basic idea of what I am looking to create on Torque Game Engine, (whenever I get it lol):
The game is an Action/Adventure, RPG, Horror game. As metioned above, it will be a Castlevania style game cross with Zelda aspects. So, as an example, the protaganist is required to scale a cliff to reach a new location, but in order for him to achieve this, he requires the 'Eagle Claws' which enable him to climb the cliff. I am looking to differ from most RPG styled games with the levelling up system. I am looking for a style of game where the character gains some form of upgrade ever time they defeat a key enemy and/or when they discover a hidden location that contains an upgrade there. This means, the player cannot just simply kill enemies to level up and annihilate the enemies.
I am looking that the protaganist wields one weapon, unless it is dual wielded, which he will find more weapons, and can also use an additional items, which are required to access new areas, defeat enemies and overall, end up where the character need to go. For example, the character need to Grappling Hook to reach the other side of a bridge that has fallen.
I am looking that the world will be massive, and that you and the character know nothing of where you have to go, so you must gather information on what to do next from other people.
So here is an overview of what the game will basically be about.
For centuries, vampires have been ravaging the land, destroying humanity. The game begins in one peaceful village. The opening scene will be of a vampire attack on the village, which there is fire blazing, people being savaged. There would be two key vampires at the scene, a Lord and Lady. They would stand at the scene laughing at the sight of agony. Almost everyone in the village is killed in which one person in particular survives, he drags himself to a hiding place, injured from a falling beam off a building, and stays there, as the vampires returning to there masters.
The Lord and Lady return to they castles and the injured protaganist wakes from his exhausted sleep. He slinks up off the ground, and travels to a nearby village to warn them of a possible vampire attack. He comes across a trained vampire hunter and stays with him for a while learning the skills and techniques in killing a vampire. A while later, a vampire raid occurs in the village, lead by the Lady Vampiress. The master vampire hunter and his new apprentice, (the protaganist), are able to hold off the attack, angering the Lady. She ends up disappearing from the scene. The main character vows to hunt down the Lord and Lady and end their rule of tyranny over the land. But, he has no idea where they are, so he must travel the land through many dark, beautiful locations and collect information on the vampires' locations, (which are long distances apart), and defeat them before and eternal night shrouds the land, and the world would be dragged into a permanent time of violent darkness. There would be a dramatic twist midway through the game, in which the protaganist gets involved in a false love triangle which could cost him his life, and much, much more... The ending would also be a surprise, and allies will form between characters you would not think possible...
Please give me your thoughts and opinions on whether this would work or not.
Cheers,
Rhys

Thanks, I know there will be a lot of work involved with things such as the dynamic angles for something like a hookshot or crossbow, so I hope I'll be able to get at least that done lol. Will try the demo and see how I go.

They are:
-Incruentus -> (Bloodlust)
-Ortus Malum -> (Rising Evil)
Do you think these names are heading on the right track?

I think those would be nice spell names.

Yes, they do sound a bit like magic names. So far I've drawn up the title for Incruentus, since that one seems to sound better as a title and sounds vampirish. I've placed an eclipsed moon where the c is, which looks really good.

I was doing a search on 'Incruentus' on google and apparantly it is a UK band...
Does this restrict me from using this name in a game?

No. The only possible thing they could do is Trademark their name (copyrights or patents would not apply). If they did that, it would stop you from making your own band named "Incruentus" (Trademarks are only valid within the same trade).
