Okay sorry if this is a dumb quesition but I am new to using maya and I can not seem to get the exporter to see my mesh. Ever time I get ready to export the dts file go to register details and gives me a the message no detail meshes found. So any clue to what I am doing worng?

Now I did try adding a detail group to it but when I exported it did not export anything, so any help with this would be great.
Thanks.

For example: pusgolem128 or pusgolem2 - the number identifies the detail level for the exporter.
Even though you may have registered the detail, it didn't take. In the hypergraph you should see a node that says "detail128" or "detail2". Again, this is because of the incorrect naming of the mesh.

The mesh is named incorrectly - it must had a number identifying the detail level. For example: pusgolem128 or pusgolem2 - the number identifies the detail level for the exporter.

You need a Higharchy - like this
base01
-Start01
--ModelName100 - the Numeric value states the detail level (which you should not delete) - it may be best to get rid of the colon as well.
-detail100
bounds
ANy other questions let me Know

Ah, thanks I got it, I thought the number had to be on the detail node. I guess I missed it on the mode.
