Import DTS DSQ files to blender

by Philippe C · in Artist Corner · 01/05/2008 (10:59 am) · 8 replies

I wonder if it is possible to write a Blender import script for the DTS file and DSQ files in order to get in Blender an animated character ?

By this way we can reuse the animated skeleton and replace ORC character by new ones. Or add new animation based on the current one and so on ...

I believe it is possible since Joseph Greenwalt was working on something that did exactly this. I don't know what happened to it, though.

You might want to check the modeling program shaper. it is the only program i know that imports DTS.

Good call, Ramen-sama. I often forget about Shaper.

The format supported by Shaper in import are : 3ds, 3d ascii, x, dts and dsq
The format supported by Shaper in export are : 3d ascii, x, dts and dsq

Blender is not supported.

The tools provided to design seems rustic compare to blender
I wonder how this tools can support my use case .

Anyway thanks for your help , if there is no solution with Blender I will investigate more Shapper.

I hope that Joseph Greenwalt could give me some clues "on something that did exactly this" ...
