Atlas detail textures...

I just bought L3DT Pro and I brought the atlas terrain I made into TGEA using the plugin (I haven't been able to make the terrain myself manually yet). Here's some of my questions:
1. How can add a detail texture to the atlas terrain?
2. The seams don't seem to match up sometimes on the land and there's this white line on the screen when far away. As you get closer the white line goes away and the seams come together. Any idea what this is? btw: I made the heightmap +1. Example 1024 = 1025. Also some parts of the land stretch and then come together the same way the white lines do, but this is stretching the land with it.
3. Anyone have some good suggestions on how to make large terrain look real good far away and close up?
If you know of any links or tutorials please post them too.
Thanks!

I have another question... actually a multi-part question.
4. How do you set it up to use multiple images for one huge texture? Does L3DT do this when you export the texture and checkmark the split map into tiles? Is it automatically embeded somehow in the atlas file as to which textures to use or do you need to script this in the mission file?

The texture, lightmap etc are all part of the atlas itself, it does not use anything external.
