Game Music Pack for different theme?

by Sammy · in General Discussion · 12/12/2007 (8:56 pm) · 3 replies

Hi all,

1. Where could we buy game music packs for different theme?
(eg. scientific scene, racing scene, rpg scene, antique scene, etc.)

2. Will there be any conflict when the same song used in games created by different game developers?

3. Could we modify a music pack?

Thanks in advance

1) Google should find the answer. Perhaps someone else here can recommend a specific source.

2) It will all be outlined in the license when you purchase the content.

3) Again, depends on the license. Some content creators want the music in it's original state, others don't care if you modulate/mix the content.

I have a couple of songs available on my site Decane Music. At last some stuff, very cheap and a flatrate license (buy once, use as often as you like). Maybe there's something in for you you like.

Oh, sorry, totally forgot to answer your questions:

1) Search for royalty free music in Google and on this site.

2) Nope. Authors usually seperate between an "exclusive" and "non-exclusive" license. Exclusive is more expensive, but then no one else gets the song. Non-exlusive means the authors sells the music to whoever wants that music. So no problem here.

3) Depends on the license. Some allow it, but only if you use it for your specific project. Some disallow it totally and usually all disallow to re-publish the modified song at all.
