Tge On Freebsd?

I am looking for a cross-platform 3D game engine.
My development platform of choice is FreeBSD.
I have downloaded the Linux demo for TGE, but it reports an error during the post-installation phase (with no details whatsoever) then when I attempt to run it, it brings down X with a signal 11. I suspect there's some key Linux component that I'm not emulating well enough for it, but without any more information than that, I may not be able to figure out what the real problem is...
So I have three questions:
1) Any idea how to troubleshoot this problem?
2) Even better, is there a native FreeBSD demo for TGE?
3) If "no" to #1 and #2, then can somebody at least assure me that I should be able to compile and run TGE from source under FreeBSD after I purchase a license? In which case I suppose I could scrounge up a Windows machine to evaluate the demo with... :grumble grumble:

The linux development of TGE is community based, and I am not sure about the status of a BSD port. I am guessing that it wouldn't be a friendly "out-of-the-box" solution, though. I'm sure some of the Linux community could shine more light on this than I.

So that's working now.
But I'm still interested in the possibility of building and using a native FreeBSD installation if anybody's got any information on that.
