Skin found on link node "MultiResbodymesh"-skin must be unlink

Hey everyone,
has anyone ran into this issue when exporting a character? I keep getting this error whenever i try to export. (Skin found on link node "MultiRes::bodymesh"-skin must be unlink)if i unlink the "multiRes" then the exporter generates another error "skin assertion error". Help please anyone

Your multires mesh should NOT have a skin modifier on it. It should be a snapshot of your skinned mesh with a multires modifier.

To follow up on Magnus, after you created the snapshot and added multires you need to link the multiresmesh object to the original skinned object.
