I got this 300 bucks engine and I kind of thought over time It would support for mmorpg db and such.

I know I could code it but the reason paid so much is bah I'm such a idiot lol

Anyways I kind found new engine for mmorpg and making easier for n00bs like me.

Not sure what I can do anymore in torque.

There have been resources for database access for years, though the required programming for a MMO network model is high unless the engine is designed from the ground up to support a specific way of managing the "world". In terms of tech, though, Torque is quite inexpensive. Did you look at MMOWorkshop for Torque and AFX? It does a lot of heavy lifting.

Good luck with your endeavors, though. Perhaps the new engine that you're moving to will make your life easier without compromising functionality or featureset.

You do know there's a free MMO kit available right?

There's also www.mydreamrpg.org the Dreamgames MMO Kit.

There are many resources on this site to help get you where you want
to be with your MMO. The database resource was simple enough to
implement and I've got it working with MS SQL Server 2000.

I've spent over $1,000 in the last year learning about and researching
different engines and add-ons to find the right combination of things that
will work for what I want to create. I keep coming back to TGE because
it has the flexibility to allow me to add in whatever I want.

For a straight forward MMORPG I did find other engines that made it quick
and easy for a non-programmer to throw something together. Maybe that's
what you are looking for, and that's fine. The ones that I found would not
be a viable solution for a retail for-sale game.

Whatever works for you is naturally what you should go with, But don't
feel like an idiot because you paid for an engine like Torque. Either later on
in your current project, or maybe for your next project Torque will fill the need.

Thanks guys yeah I found a free engine that does a lot of things but still like put use to the torque engine. I forget did Torque allow you to login to the engine and work on terrain and such with your other dev team? One of them I'm working on now has that feature though not a major need but it was nice.

Thanks again for the links I will check them out.

Torque doesn't have a multi-person editor concept like Sauerbraten, no. It would be cool, but most engines don't have that going on.

I wonder how much hero engine goes for.. 10k? hehe

Or a few hundred thousand, knowing the licensing costs of many engines. 10k seems awfully cheap.
