TGEA on Vista?

by Andy · in Technical Issues · 12/05/2007 (6:34 am) · 4 replies

Hay, just a quick question - is there any way to get TGEA working on Vista? I moved to Vista recently, and now I cant get anything to run at all. Even after a fresh install, even the example files wont work. comes up with an error "Failed to open main.cs", even though its sitting right there in the directory (and ive checked - not read only or anything). As nothing else has really changed, im guessing this is due to sticking it on Vista right?

I dont really want to go to the hassel of dual-booting... although that said maybe this is the excuse I need to get into Linux lol :P but if any of you have any suggestions on how to fix this, im all ears ;)

PC Specs:
OS - Windows Vista 32bit Ultimate
Motherboard - Gigabyte 965P-DS4 (rev1)
CPU - Intel Quad Core Q6600 (G0)
GPU - Radeon Sapphire HD3870
RAM - 3gig DDR2 (Corsair @ 4-4-4-12 latancey, dual channel interleaved)

Works fine 4 me

Edit:
That wasn't helpful :P

When does it say it cant find main.cs? everytime you run the exe or only when you run it from visual studio?

One thing I found is (and this might not apply to everyone) you may need to disable aero in the visual settings for the windows to get TGEA to work.

TGEA works fine for me, Aero inable or disabled. I know this may sound dumb, but have you deleted main.cs by accident?

It does it when I try to launch the .exe. the main.cs file is definatly still there. But as we are asking silly questions - theres nothing I need to compile for the examples to work right? Im pretty sure I remember them working straight out of the box before (but was a fair while ago so i may have forgotten lol). cheers for your help guys its always appreciated ;) <333
