Transparency textures in Quark

I have seen old forum links (2003) about code fix for the transparency problem in DIF but it is still not fixed ???
I am using TGE 1.5.2 and I cannot make a transparent texture to be used in a DIF.
I have used a JPG texture version in my Quark-6.5 DIF texture
I am using a PGN file in the interior folder of that DIF
I have created that PBN using the SuperPng Photoshop-6 latest plugin version.
If I load that PGN in Photoshop, I see that the Alpha channel was saved.
Once inserted into TGE 1.5.2, I see my DIF has my PGN texture but it is no transparent at all.
My PGN is slightly different then my JPG so I can distinguish which one is being used in TGE.
So its been like 4 years since then and it is still not fixed in TGE ????
WHY ???
I am finding so many issues with TGE that have been going on for so long without ever being fixed, old references, limitations on DTS, ... the list could go on for long. But I have no choice in using it since its my company's. ..
I have no access to TGE code because I am contributing to my company's project. They own the licence. I don't. Besides I am not doing any codeing. Just DTS, DIF, textures, terrains, ...

Because of the myriad of problems that could occur, it was not included in the source.
EDIT:
I thought I would note that it is not something that needs to be "fixed" since it was not a feature. It was desirable for some users and therefore those users added the resource. Bezier curves for surfaces ala Quake 3 are also not a feature of Torque. I don't think there's a resource for curved surfaces, however.
