Any Ideas

I've made part a game, but I can't really think of objectives for the game to complete. I thought about just having killing the enemy as the objective, but that seems kind of bland. Here is SS of my current work so you can get an idea of what might suit the game. I will be adding more lighting and some piping.
The game is an FPS with an M16 and M249 Saw currently. The soldier is from the soldier pack. The map is based on pipeline from Americas Army, but a bit more.... horrific.

The first sentence. Some ideas for objectives for the player to complete. I don't think capture the flag really fits the game. What are some ideas that you can think of or resources that could be beneficial for me to read.

Derail a terrorist train, then neutralize them.
Steal data from the super secret lab in the sewers.
Basically, play Siphon Filter, Perfect Dark, Splinter Cell, etc and see what different missions have in them. Do you have a storyline? It would make it much easier to work out a mission base with some semblance of a story, no matter how thin.

It always depends on what road you wanna go but as David said, you should try similar games and see how they are made. If you want it to be more "horrific" you could make a mix out of those mentioned by David and the RE, Silent Hill or even Dino crisis series. Good luck. :)

If you're out of idea, begin by reproducing a level of a game you like, then you'll have more and more idea poping up as you're doing and testing it. In the end it will be your own level design, and you'll be able to go from this first level to construct the rest of the game all by yourself.

Seek out the enemy base, then nutrilize them, after that return to extraction point.
