Kynapse AI in Torque

Does anyone know about integrating Kynapse AI into torque? From the demos and videos, it looks like one of the best AI packages available. Also, does anyone know how much it would cost?

Most likely it is quite expensive, like Havok. Perhaps you should contact them and ask if they have an indie price-package.

Whether the restrictions on such a package would be easy to integrate or not is questionable, though. It would depend on how robust their API connections are, your experience with Torque and C++.

You're going to spend at least 10k+. They may have some special price points these days, you'd have to ask, but I wouldn't expect it to be much cheaper if they do.

It really is a great piece of tech, I evaled it a while back. Now, integrating it is not for the faint of heart, the API itself isn't too dificult to use, but you really need to be up on your Torque knowledge. Especially when it comes to terrain and collisions and the API's more advanced features (i.e. the really cool stuff).

If you do get it, don't hesitate to ask their support staff questions, a stubbornness to figure it out yourself doesn't help you.

Do you think they would license it on a per-unit-sold basis instead of a flat price? Also, what do you get with the evaluation copy?

The licensing question is one you would have to ask them, though I doubt they would work in that model. They may have a scale for copies sold in licensing, however.

Like David said you'll need to talk to them to find that out. Evaluation copies were also worked out on a customer to customer basis. They work out eval licenses for the tools you want to eval.
