Hmm well i haven't read the full thing yet but its more like getting started ( not really much scripting exploding barrels like in finneys books ) while reading you create a game called "Abandon all hope" ( so its kind of the same thing as in the book "game programmers guide to torque" where you create a game while reading through the book). You get to know how to use the mission and gui editors. And you learn some stuff about torque game builder. And well i cant tell much more cause i haven't read it all :). And for all of you who want to know.

THE BOOK IS OUT ON www.amazon.com GO BUY IT ( i preordered it and now it has COME! ) and yeah thats all i can say.

Hope you liked my contents report ^^

Book Description
There was a time that programming computer games was considered a hobby for geeks only - but not anymore. The popularity of computer games continues to rise and today's players are realizing how cool it is to not only play the game, but to try their hand at creating it. Now you can learn how to create your own games using the popular Torque game engine from GarageGames. With the Torque game engine, you're in control. Decide where you want to go and who you want to play. You can build a fun, unique game to share with your friends or play online. Torque for Teens covers the fundamentals of implementing design and code in a creative blend of writing, programming, artwork, and testing. It provides a fundamental framework that every game designer should know. The methods used in game design with Torque are also used in programming other languages and on other platforms, allowing you to transition your new skills to numerous future game development projects. Discover how fun, easy, and rewarding game programming can be as you tackle terrain generation, character modeling, audio recording, and scripting missions using GarageGames' Torque game engine.

Now someone states the actual name. I was looking for this the other day but couldn't find it. I ended up buying a very, very, beginning C++ game programming book for my son. It's more along the lines of what he needs anyway. He has no programming experience what-so-ever.

We are very excited to have Torque for Teens added to the library of Torque resource books. Just today in fact we got the paperwork in to start reselling this and other Thomson books through our site. We are working on getting a full book description, cover shot, and ordering solution put up on our site.

It should be noted. however, that there is an error in the book with regards to the starter FPS and racing resources. These starter kits are not currently included in the Demo version of TGE that ships with the book. We are working on a free resource to add to TDN which will add this to the script only version. However, at present, only full version TGE owners can complete the game projects in the book. We will update this thread shortly with more information.
