Constructor Sourcecode?!?

by Ken Cornett · in Constructor · 10/30/2007 (2:03 pm) · 5 replies

Hello,

I realize that GG is having an issue with the Manpower / brainpower and time to fix all the constructor issues. I would like to personally offer up some of my time, programming expertise to help get constructor on the road to a flawless Gold Release. I would also welcome anyone else to the team to help correct bugs in the source, and to further expand the product to be the best level creation util out there. As for my credentials, I developed the only 3rd Party Unit Editor to ever be released for Total Annihilation out there, with my Buddy Kinboat, and I will let the fact that our editor turned out better / bugfree then the editor that they used to create the game, and the emails from Cavedog, stand for themselves.

I am serious if anyone from GG is interested in speaking further about this issue, please email me at: storm3@twlakes.net

Thanks for listening,

Ken aka StOrM3

I don't believe the source is available to the general public. I'm also not sure if it is available to anyone outside of GG. The last I heard, the source was not in a release state.

Ken,

if they don't send you the source code, and you're up for a challenge .... there are a TON of people that would love to have the map2dif exporter work better ... if you poke around the forums there are all kinds of posts .... I don't believe it's been updated since 2002... and it is FULL of problems, from shading across triangles to missing faces or portals causing problems.

Email Matt Fairfax and ask him if you can help with the code. Last I heard no one at GarageGames was working on this project with all the other new stuff happening, and I'm guessing Matt would love to have his baby taken over by some good hands.

Well, so far constructor, is a strongly modified TGE engine, this has always been stated by GG. ;-)
It's not very hard to figure from the script files, isn't it?

I would rather spend time with those script files to check what can be changed...

My two Euro Cents.

You would think a GG employee would respond and provide some kind of definitive answer one way or the other.
