Upgrading to Pro

Is there any reason why upgrading to Pro after buying the binary is more expensive than buying the pro version in the first place? $295 vs. $250. I am trying to think of a reason for GG to discourage upgrading like that, and I honestly cant.

They aren't discouraging you from upgrading, they are encouraging you to purchase the Pro version from the beginning! It's just part of business. You'll find a lot of places give discounts for buying everything up front.

It's kinda like buying Windows XP, then Vista Upgrade. You pay more overall, whereas you could have just purchased Vista.

We'll I guess where you stand depends on where you sit. They may be encouraging pre-purchasers to buy the Pro, but they are certainly discouraging me from upgrading. A discount for existing customers has been just a part of business for a very long time.
