Viking render/concept art, first Carrara render

Well I don't know if this one was modeled by that person herself who rendered it or if she bought a model from DAZ or wherever and then just rendered it, but it was her first render in Carrara 5 Pro last year and I just came across it and liked it. I learned of it because of PD Particles (available here too) was used for the foliage in front. But I just like the render and the character regardless. And I felt that if you're a game developer currently developing a game involving vikings, this might interest you. Perhaps the artist is for hire to make more renders for you, or models... who knows.

Yeah. Renderosity is mostly a Poser/Vue house (though they advertise and support a number of applications). Most of the users there use these products. There's a lot of wonderful stuff that would be *very* sweet in a 2D game but are entirely too high-poly to use in a real-time 3D simulation.

just another thought. It could also serve as inspiration for some who want to make such a game and need ideas of the look of their characters.
Quidam (www.n-sided.com) has an interesting low-poly mode export specially for gamedev. If you start a character in Quidam for high res prints and rigging&animation you can also use a lowpoly version for RT use.

I know that. The value of shots like these are more for concept art and box art. And for games that don't use realtime 3D, such as card games with highres prints. Also for the booklets/print materials going with boxed products.just another thought. This is a poser model I think.
