Did the scene editor in gameSpace1.6 change?

As I'm looking over the documentation for the DTS exporter, I see that you have to
drag and drop one object over another in the Scene Editor in order to make them
form a group. Well, no matter what I do I can't get the group to form.
I loaded up some of the samples from the tutorial here on GG
www.garagegames.com/index.php?sec=mg&mod=resource&page=view&qid=8991
very well written resource by the way, and it refers to the groups as well, but for the
life of me I can't get mine to do it.
AND
When I load the examples, none of the groups are in the scene editor for the example
scenes either.
Did they take out the ability to group, or did I miss a step somewhere...

I can construct a skeleton to DTS entirely of IK groupings[via Scene Editor and some primitives]...I did a .Plan some time ago on it...so it is possible. I license gameSpacev1.6...and the Dark Industries DTS ExporterII exporter to compile the shape.
...gameSpace is a difficult program to get a good handle on; and I enjoy most difficult and challenging tasks, so I got it down fairly good...

Nope, IK grouping via the Scene Editor is the way to go! It is a drag/drop affair, might have to refresh the UI[dedicated button in dialog]. You 'could' also use the Glue as Sibling, Glue as Group, as well; I believe the two commands do the same function. I find the Scene Editor approach much more 'intuitive', but that's Rex...I can construct a skeleton to DTS entirely of IK groupings[via Scene Editor and some primitives]...I did a .Plan some time ago on it...so it is possible. I had the scene editor in layer mode. It would have saved an hour or two if they
would have mentioned that in the docs for us noobs.. :-)
Thanks.

Ok, I feel suitably silly now.I had the scene editor in layer mode. It would have saved an hour or two if they
would have mentioned that in the docs for us noobs.. :-)
Thanks.

There are some buttons (defaulted to the lower right corner of gS on one of the flyout menus - sorry for the vagueness) that do the grouping as well, if you still can't get the dragging/dropping to work.
That the examples aren't showing a group seems mighty weird to me...
I wonder if your scene editor is in a different mode? On page 4 of the word doc there's a screenshot of the Scene Editor. Check that the 2nd button from the left is the same (in the screenshot looks like 3 boxes connectd by two lines in a hierarchy type of picture). On its right is a hollow black square. Maybe your Scene Editor is in Layer mode or something special?
If it's still not working, try posting on the gameSpace forums. Ted is a user there who finds answers pretty fast, once he sees your question.
