I've compiled it and put it on my web site, get it here.
EDIT: I've added it to the DTS/Maya/Downloading and Installing the Exporter page, as well.

Crashes my Maya :(

Is there supposed to be something I do before exporting?
10/07/2007 (3:29 pm)
Did that just now but it still crashes on export.Is there supposed to be something I do before exporting?
#5
Have you tried exporting multiple scenes?

what does the log say?
and (I assume the answer is yes) but do you have a bounding box?

Yes theres a bounding box and the only thing in the log is,"Maya Message Log starting Monday, October 08, 2007"

@Sean: Hey man, when you built the 64-bit version, did you have an issue with the include being too low on the include list of exportDTSCmd? I had to move it up before that file would compile.
10/08/2007 (1:59 pm)
@Mike: I've made a change to the compile, and updated the files online. Download it again and see if it works. If it doesn't, please send me a scene that crashes your Maya, if you can.@Sean: Hey man, when you built the 64-bit version, did you have an issue with the

Now it says no bounds found, but I did but a box around the object. Also it says pCylinder, I used a Box not a cylinder.... Also this is at the end;

EDIT: The dump.html was in My Documents\Maya\projects\default\scenes\dump.html
Is this the correct one? Because I repeated the process and changed the Hierarchy and made 2 new boxes, bounds and pPolyCube (or whatever the default name is) and still gives same output.

Well it doesn't crash Maya anymore, but it gives me an error."pv_performAction "C:/Documents and Settings/Mike/Desktop/f" "exportDTS";

Is your bounding mesh actually named "bounds"? This is a requirement of the exporter.
Is pCylinder your bounding mesh, or does it serve some other purpose?
You can ignore the warning.
The dump.html file gets written to the same path as your Maya scene.

Mike, it would really help tremendously if you could send me your scene (or some other scene that produces the same errors).Is your bounding mesh actually named "bounds"? This is a requirement of the exporter.

Ahhhh I was looking at the wrong dump.html. Didn't see it cause my desktop automatically rearranged the icons to alphabetical. I'm not using any special scene, just a box and a bounding box. Here is the correct dump log.(easier to read version, http://darkcrest.my-php.net/dump.html)

Anyway, it looks like my latest fix resolved the issue you had with the exporter. For more information on making the exporter work for you, be sure to read Danny Ngan's great tutorials, reference page, and FAQ.
Warning: The DTS/DSQ exporter is fastidious. You must have a good grasp of its requirements and general mechanics in order to use it effectively. Read all of Danny Ngan's pages, then read them again.
Also, I highly recommend you use CFG files to tell the exporter how to generate your DTS and DSQ data. Doing so cuts down on errors, modularizes the manageability of your assets, forces you to better organize your work, and, if done right, cuts way down on the sizes of your exported files.

Mike wrote:Quote:Does this mean I should Triangulate the model?Yeah, the exporter requires that all meshes (including bounding and collision volumes) comprise polygons of no more than three sides.

Alright. Thanks Milo, really needed this.

I had some issues with the compile - I can share all the things that I have done - to ensure that the versions that are out there all have the same features.

If you recommend making other fixes or improvements to the 32-bit 2008 exporter, I'd love to hear them.

Sean, the only modification that I've made to the exporter is the optional removal of the file extension from color file nodes (which you also implemented in the 64-bit version).If you recommend making other fixes or improvements to the 32-bit 2008 exporter, I'd love to hear them.

When i try to export anything in maya i get the error":Nothing to export." maya dose not crash but it dose not export the mode. other people have the same error as me, if there a fix for this yet?
