Hi Michelle!

For ride-sharing -- I'll check around to see if any GGers have vans and are willing to do a little picking-up. Otherwise, organizing with your fellow attendees is always a good option -- so once you have lodgings figured out, post here and pester people you also know are attending. :)

As for lodgings -- unfortunately, at this late stage we don't have the hotel rooms on hold any more. :( My personal recommendation is the Eugene Hilton, however; http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/EUGEHHF-Hilton-Eugene-Conference-Center-Oregon/index.do -- this is really quite close to the GG office, and so would be most convenient for getting some ride-sharing going.

If that doesn't work, though, the best resource for a complete and thorough hotel list is CVALCO; http://www.visitlanecounty.org/listings/index.cfm?action=showLoc&catID=20&subcatID=192&locID=49&startrange=All&endrange=All&substart=M&subend=S¬ify=1&sub=1 is the ridiculously-long url for their Eugene hotel listing. To check the distance from a given hotel to the GG office or Chambers, I'd recommend Google Transit -- http://www.google.com/transit -- and using the hotel's address. The GG office is at 245 W. 5th St, Eugene, OR; Chambers is at 2975 Chad Drive, Eugene, OR. The boot camps following IGC will be at the Downtown Athletic Club, 999 Willamette Street, Eugene, OR. This will also give you assistance in planning busing from your hotel to the site, and I really must endorse the local mass transit system for being as efficient as it is.

I will warn you, though, that you may have trouble finding lodging for Friday evening and Saturday, if you're staying for the boot camps -- it's the same weekend as the University's homecoming game, so there's a lot more activity than normal. Be prepared to see lots of green and yellow!

And this is where I go, "Oh, -duh!-" and realize that by ride-sharing, you didn't mean just local carpooling, but long-distance transportation! Well, good question. That I can't help you with, I fear! Other attendees?

Matt Fairfax recommends the America's Best Value Inn, by the way -- also nearby, but a budget place that's much easier on the indie lifestyle than the Hilton would be. http://www.bestvalueinneugene.com/

...but if you'd like, I can check around on tent-staking. :p

I am bugging the Renwerx Studios guys right now to see if any of them can make it and if the boss wants to help us make it, some of my home camp is not cooperating with going.. darnit. They really deserve the break.

I'm driving down from Portland on Tuesday afternoon and leaving whenever
things end on Thursday. I have room for 3. Also, if there is someone planning
on not getting a hotel room for whatever reason (can't find one, can't afford one)
I've got some extra space in my RV. Very simple accomadations. Heat, running
water, place to sleep.
