detail levels disappear (multires)

Hi,
Without using multires, my player models export fine, and every aspect is working well.
My troubles begin when I apply the multires. My close detail works fine, but at any distance, the model disappears. This is in game, and in show as well.
A few details; Main mesh is named mesh145, I did a mesh snapshot (biped is off, model is in frame 1 of default idle animation). This I named multires::mesh145 and applied the multires modifier too. I then went through the adjustlod script, and applied the generated values. Checking 'object properties', everything looks fine, it contains 2 lines showing detail levels, etc.
I have dummy objects for every detail level, beginning with detail145.
Again, this all appears to work fine. The model exports, the default animation runs well, and everything shows up just fine in the game at a close distance. Only when I move the camera away to what should be the next detail level does it disappear.
Anyone know what I missed?
Thanks

Exact same thing. I set the slider to... hmm.. the second option, I cant recall what it says right now :) Distance sets detail or something. Move the model back, and it quickly disappears. Its like those detail levels simply don't exist.

Do they exist when you move the slider?

No. The model shows fine close up, and only disappears when I move it back. Or with the other option, it shows fine at the first setting, and disappears when I slide the bar over to the next detail level.

First, check to make sure that you hit the 'generate' button on the multires modifier. I have been bitten by that one once or twice.
If you can, can you post a snapshot of your schematic view?

Sounds like the second detail levels never got constucted.First, check to make sure that you hit the 'generate' button on the multires modifier. I have been bitten by that one once or twice.

Schematic should follow, I've tried to crop it down to something sane, while still allowing it to be read.
I can also post the pre and post exports if you'de like.

I did hit the generate button. I can tell when I've done so, because it causes all my wireframe views to look a bit funny :)Schematic should follow, I've tried to crop it down to something sane, while still allowing it to be read.

Link the multires object to the original mesh that it was generated from. Do this and it should work.

That solved everything! Thank you for your time :)

Erik, did the animations for your player model show up all right on the LOD objects? Or is the primary detail level the only one that has the animations? I can get my LOD meshes to show up (thanks to your post) but the animations don't transfer (I'm using Biped and "skin")
