TGB - X, Best Choice?

Hi, I want to buy the latest version of TGB or Torque X and would like to know which is the best choice. What are the differences between these two, aside from the Xbox support?

I don't really need the Xbox support, although that's cool. I'd like to start off with the Platformer Starter Kit. And I'd definately like the better version, if theres a difference.

I have an old version of the Torque 2D Engine, the early adopters version with just the script. Do I have any upgrade options or not?

Thanks so much!

You get both TGB and TXB with the other, TorqueX (the framework) is free.

The T2D early adopter engine upgraded to the TGB Pro license, check out your My Account page to download it :) Welcome back btw.

Great thank you! I will look for the upgrade option.

I'm sorry but I'm still a little confused with the choices. So Torque X is a combination of all the elements? Is this my best choice then?

Also, I was wondering if there is a playable demo of the platformer starter kit, I'd love to see it in action!

You don't need an upgrade option. You already have the "upgrade".

I do not think the platformer kit has a demo. The Platformer demo only works with TorqueX. There is not one for TGB.

Awesome, thanks guys, I had the download for free as you said.

So I just need to get that starter kit now...

Sure wish that platformer kit WAS available for TGB... why aren't they compatible?

Because they are two completely different engines, written in two completely different languages.

TGB --> C++ and TorqueScript

TorqueX --> C#
