3d max sprites.

by Morrie · in General Discussion · 09/15/2007 (9:26 am) · 3 replies

I have a character with animations that I created in 3d max.
I was wondering if I can make them into sprites or if there is a program that will do this for me.

If there isn't a program how do I make sprites, I've looked on the internet Google.com and Ask.com, but som of the tutorials are a little confusing.

Thank you for your help.

Lock your camera and render to images. I believe Max can render animation frames as sequential images. Then use a program like GlueIt (I think that is what it is called) to create a sprite sheet.

Here is some info on the technique I use to automate the Max->Sprite rendering process.

Save as animated GIF? (you can always go from AVI > GIF)

Make sure the background is bright green or something. Though I think max and export without any alpha issues (PNG).
