Is there any chance of TGE or TGEA doing this.

Gathered from that video, it sounds like they're basically turning those 20gb of textures into one big texture, with various opacity calculations to blend together the other layers. This is a really great idea. If you think about it, TGEA already does this in a sense. Everything you paint in Legacy gets blended together with a render-to-texture call.

I thought the exact same thing. What they are doing sounds all wowie and impressive until you really think of what you are doing. Its honeslty no different than working in Photoshop on an image and using a few dozen or so layers to get a final image, which you then deliver to the printer as one collapsed flat TGA or even an uncompressed JPEG. Nothing really special when you think about it.
Their editor looks kind of neat, though I would hate to have to make wholesale changes as their levels get more and more complex. Selection looks to be a real pain in the ass with that thing.
