Changes not saved under VISTA

This is weird and it is making me go crazy :(
I open my project in VISTA and I do a lot of changes in my levels and in the scripts (using torsion of course) and for my surprise changes are not being saved....
And a whole day of work is lost.
The weird thing is that everything seems to work inside TGB but changes are not reflected in the game folders (not datablocks or any script has a new date). So I open the project under windows XP and everything is like the old version.
What could be wrong? is there a bug? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for the suggestions and help!

On Vista you can't write to the program files directory without elevated permissions.. which is why the engine saves files to AppData/Local. This is a common and now required (vista) practice.

Thanks! -I don't want to sounds rude, is just that I don't know how to proceed-. Is there an option to change those permissions?
How can I access the AppDta/local Folder? I can't found it!
How can I compile using the files saved in appData/local -which are the newest-?

Thanks Robert, but that doesn't help me... how can I do to save the files in the second location, not in the first, so I can see changes reflected once my game gets compiled? Thanks! -I don't want to sounds rude, is just that I don't know how to proceed-. Isaac -> Documents -> MyGames -> ProjectName
To access your AppData/local folder, just open up your Document's folder (from the start menu), go up one level (this takes you to Isaac) then, in the address bar, append AppData to the end of the address. (should be something like "C:\Documents\Isaac\AppData\" or something like that). then you can navigate around to find your TGB project.
Should solve the problem ;)

But I'm using TGB 1.1.3 and TGB is saving to Computer -> c: -> Program Files -> TGB -> Games -> MyProject by default. So I'm not able to open a project from a different location!
Maybe a solution would be to set TGB compatubility as XP under vista? I've tried that and now files are being saved properly, but the problem is that I have lost the data from AppData Folder and I can't access it.

If you are in TGB 1.1.3 and cannot change your working directory, I suggest that you try changing file permissions for your TGB folder.
To do this, open up your Program Files folder, right click on the Garage Games or TorqueGameBuilder folder, go to Properties. You will see the Read Only check box with a Square inside it, uncheck that, then go to the sercurity tab. Click Advanced (I think thats the button, if not try something similar). In this tab you should have a list of users, for each user, click on them, then change their permissions to full access. Click apply and okay. You should be able to write to this folder now.

Have you tried doing what I said? C:\Documents\Isaac\AppData\? I'm 99% sure that data in that folder is not destroyed. If you are in TGB 1.1.3 and cannot change your working directory, I suggest that you try changing file permissions for your TGB folder.

it's weird. I'm doing as you say and the date of modification of the files remains out of date. The weird thing is that I'm opening a level file and changes are there but not the data of modification.
And the bad thing is that once I copy the folder into my memory to open in in my XP computer, changes are not showed and files remains as older ones :(
And there is no way to access Isaac\AppData\...

The good notice is that TGB does it and now I set TGB to run as in windows XP under vista and I'm compiling it now, everything seems ok and I hope this works. As soon as I finish this version I will start to port to 1.5.

I don't understand why you cannot type in the address: "C:\Users\Isaac\AppData\" and get to your files. Are you an admin on your computer?

thanks for the interest. Yes, I'm the admin in my system. But no matter what I do, I can't reach that location in the hard drive.

Try uninstalling TGB and re-installing it in your Documents folder. This will make the system save to documents instead of program files.

thanks, the problem is that I'm still using 1.1.3. and I have read that that is not possible in VISTA. ASAP I will start to work with 1.5.x :)

Manually move your TGB (1.1.3) folder to somewhere else than program files, that'll do the trick.

Right click on the shortcut to TGB -> combatibilit tab -> Run this program as Administrator checkbox.
See if that helps.
I have to do this with most of my development tools in order to get them to work properly in Vista.

Run TGB in elevated admin mode.Right click on the shortcut to TGB -> combatibilit tab -> Run this program as Administrator checkbox.

I'm opening my project file from
Computer -> c: -> Program Files -> TGB -> Games -> MyProject
and everything is working inside TGB, but changes are being saved here:
Isaac -> AppData -> Local -> Virtual Store -> Program Files -> TGB -> Games -> My project
And when I compile the game files are taken from first location, where changes are not made... is so strange an confusing -and oddly frustrating-
Somebody has the same problem? A solution?
Thanks in advance!!!
