Splash Screen tutorial updated

by Do Not Delete · in Torque X 2D · 08/23/2007 (4:14 pm) · 17 replies

I wrote the splash screen tutorial a couple of months back. I recently updated it because some of the code didn't work. tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/TorqueX/SplashScreen

Please let me know if anything doesn't work so I can fix it right away.

Thanks

Hmmm, can't seem to get to that. :(

"Only TorqueX owners can access this content."

Are Creators Club members not considered TorqueX owners?

Just sign in using your GG credentials.

Once you click the link, you'll see ANOTHER login link specifically for the TDN in the upper right hand corner. Click that and you should then have access. Seems like just a quirk of the TDN.

Nope (I AM logged in here I believe):

Have you purchased any TorqueX products, either the source license or TXB? Perhaps it is somehow tied to those. I can see it, but I have both licenses.

I just have the TorqueX license for Creators Club members.

We're looking at this, but I think it is in fact an issue with our authentication system.

Have you tried to download the free Torque X version from the GarageGames website? This might promote you to "officially" own a TorqueX version and give you access to the TDN pages.

I've downloaded it at least a couple of times before the Creators Club version became available.

So on your "My Account page" in the section "Downloadable Products You Own", you can see TorqueX listed?

Yes and if you own the Creators Club Version it will say Torque X Builder - Creators Club and Torque X.

That's odd. Perhaps TXB owners are not considered to be proficient enough in C#? Try to download Torque X (the free game engine, not TXB) using your account to show you are really interested in coding. ;)

I've been coding for over 25 years. I think that shows sufficient interest. ;) :D

This really sucks :( I hope Garage Games fixes this. It works fine for me though...

Maybe you should try going to the support link here at the GG site and select TorqueX Builder. Tell them the url you are unable to access. Maybe they'll fix it! :)
