Multiple UV's in Blender

I recently modeled a house in blender, and I need to apply 2 different textures to it (Bricks and Shingles).
My first approach, I selected all but the roof of the house, and applied the brick texture to it in the UV editor, and unwrapped the selected faces to it. Then I did the same, but with the roof selected, and the shingle texture applied. Well, this didn't work, my model exported and everything, but without any texturing.
My second approach was to use Blender's "Consolidate into one image" function, which worked fine. However, the brick texture is repeated over the surface a lot and the roof is not, so when it consolidates the image, I get this huge texture that has the brick texture repeated on it like crazy, and a scaled down version of the shingles in the top left corner. And since the shingles are scaled down to fit into the new texture, the quality is degraded a lot and makes the object's roof look terrible.
How can I avoid these problems without having to split the house up into two seperate objects?

I sort of restarted the UV mapping by deleting the objects UV texture layer, and completely remapping the textures on the object, but when I view the model in ShowTool Pro, I see the roof texture, but the rest of the building is untextured.
What could be causing this? A co worker of mine was able to use 4 textures on one building with no problems at all, but I just can't seem to get it right!

I'm using version 0.95 of the exporter, all the files are in the same folder, and all the textures are powers of two, but it still doesn't work. I would be happy to send it to you. As a matter of fact, I'll zip it up and send it to you right now.

I'm using only one texture layer. I would be happy to send it to you. As a matter of fact, I'll zip it up and send it to you right now.

You're a god! After digging around for a brief second, I found that pesky dot, removed it, and everything works now!
Thanks a million.

I noticed that as well, but I never actually altered the filename myself, so I assumed it was needed for something and just left it alone. You're a god! After digging around for a brief second, I found that pesky dot, removed it, and everything works now!
